General News and Upcoming Releases

July 2004

We had a good time at the TNNA tradeshow in Columbus. So keep your eyes open for our new designs in both cross stitch and painted canvas in your local shops!

In order to keep our homepage size under control I decided to split the new design images into 2 groups- cross stitch and painted canvas. I will be posting the cross stitch this month and next month I will post the painted canvas.

A bit from Columbus- This is the first year that INRG (cross stitch trade group) and TNNA (needlepoint and yarns trade group) had a combined show. Because of this the show was very large. It was great being able to not only meeting and working with the cross stitch shops but also the needlepoint shops!  I wish that I could have seen more of the show, but I able to “walk” the show before the show started in the morning because I was working the booth myself. The evenings were filled with meetings and other activities. I did have help with set up and break down from my family (husband and the 3 boys). But I let them go and play on their own on the show days. I felt that asking 3 teenage boys to sit at a needlework show for 3 days was cruel and inhumane to both the show and the boys! LOL

I don’t have picture of my booth or the show. I did not have the opportunity to take any pictures of my booth.

Keep your eyes open for the TNNA – Stitch to Win Against Breast Cancer campaign. The kick off for this is to be in Oct. 2004. This is a 2 year industry wide campaign to help raise awareness of breast cancer and to encourage stitching in all its different aspects. We are proud to be a part of this. I will post more information as it gets closer to the kick-off date. For more information go to http://www.tnna.org

I have spent the rest of the month very busy. I have been filling orders and painting canvas as well as designing. The boys have been active as well. My 2 youngest boys, Kevin and Jeffery, were at Scout camp for a week.  Kevin ended up getting hit in the head with a horseshoe and had to be taken to the hospital for stitches (he is now fine). My oldest, Anthony, had orientation and registration for college, he is also working full-time this summer. He was bit surprised that I spent over $70 on used textbooks for one of his classes.  Then just to keep me from getting bored in my spare time my youngest, Jeffery, has orchestra twice a week.

Keep your eye open toward the end of this year and into next year. I will have designs in both of the following magazines: “Just Cross Stitch” and “The Cross Stitcher”.  I will try to let you know when the issues with my design are on the newsstand.
