Three Gates is a poem about how to handle those tales we hear about another.
The golden three gates are: First Gate- Is it True? Second Gate- Is it neccessary? Third Gate- Is it kind?
Here is the entire poem: If you are tempted to reveal, A tale someone to you has told About Another... make it pass, Before you speak make it pass, Three Gates of Gold. Three narrow gate... First, is it true? then is it necessary? In your mind give truthful answer. And last and narrowest... Is it kind?? And if to reach your lips at last, It passes through these gateways three, Then you may tell the tale... no fear, What the result of speech maybe. Author of the poem unknown
